CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. — A tragic case that stunned residents of rural Carroll County has taken another dramatic turn after authorities confirmed that Ryan Munson, the man accused of killing Donald Horine and Bobbie Munson, was found dead in Illinois before he could be taken into custody.
The development comes just days after investigators identified Munson as the primary suspect in the deaths of Donald Horine, 49, and Bobbie Munson, 46, both of Carrollton, Missouri. Their deaths sent shockwaves through the close-knit community, leaving family members, friends, and neighbors struggling to comprehend the devastating loss.
According to law enforcement officials, Horine and Bobbie Munson were discovered deceased Sunday at a residence near Route MM and County Road 250, approximately six miles east of Carrollton. Authorities quickly launched an extensive investigation, gathering evidence and pursuing leads that ultimately pointed to Ryan Munson as the suspect in the fatal shootings.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol subsequently announced that Munson was wanted on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths.

When officers arrived at the property Wednesday afternoon, they searched the area and eventually located Munson inside a recreational vehicle parked on the premises.
However, the search ended in another tragedy.
Officials reported that Ryan Munson was found dead inside the RV at approximately 3:55 p.m. Preliminary findings indicate that he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The Decatur Police Department is overseeing the investigation into Munson’s death, while Missouri authorities continue reviewing all aspects of the Carroll County homicide case.
