According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, Grimes was the victim of a shooting on Shelby Street in the Benning Hills neighborhood. He was transported to a local hospital after suffering injuries in the shooting, but despite efforts to save his life, he later died from his injuries.
Heavy police presence was reported on Shelby Street as investigators responded to the deadly shooting. Authorities remained at the scene working to determine exactly what happened and what led to the gunfire.
