MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Family members and friends are mourning the loss of Landon Dunn, a 20-year-old Marine whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal crash on Interstate 85 in Montgomery early Saturday morning.
Montgomery police confirmed that Dunn was one of two people killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Aug. 22 on the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 between Chantilly Parkway and Taylor Road.
According to authorities, officers responded to reports of a serious crash and discovered two heavily damaged vehicles at the scene. Dunn, who was driving a pickup truck, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also identified the driver of an SUV involved in the collision as Alyshia Rushing, 26, who also died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. A female passenger traveling in the SUV was transported to a hospital with injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening.
