Jadet Forman and Gabrielle Forman Cohoes, NY Murder-Suicide – Obituary: In Loving Memory Of Couple Killed In Cohoes Shooting
Cohoes, NY – The victims of Tuesday’s murder-suicide have been identified as Jadet and Gabby Forman. Police state Jadet Forman shot his wife, Gabby, before turning the gun on himself.
Authorities confirmed the weapon was an illegal ghost gun, though its origin remains unknown. Despite a cousin’s account to CBS6 describing Jadet as aggressive with a temper, police reported no criminal or domestic violence history for him.
The tragedy unfolded while Gabby, a nurse at a Saratoga hospital, was on a FaceTime call with her mother in Georgia. The cousin revealed it was the mother’s birthday, and she witnessed Jadet enter the room and end the call before shots were fired. After losing contact, the alarmed mother asked Gabby’s brother to check the apartment. He arrived to the sound of gunfire.
The couple, married for two years and reportedly undergoing a divorce, were found by police approximately five hours after initial 911 calls. Family members have criticized this delay. A police official defended the cautious approach, stating, “If you just go through and barrel through a door… that’s dangerous. It’s dangerous to the people that are inside that building, and we cannot risk causing a tragedy to take place under those circumstances.”
The incident has left a family grieving and a community seeking answers about domestic violence and police protocol.
